📝 Summary

Removal of the arrest from the accounts of the shipowner stranded at the port of Taman tanker "Volgoneft-239" will accelerate the utilization of the stern part of the vessel and complete work on it well before March 31, said the representative of "Volgatransneft".

In an interview with RIA Novosti, he noted that the shareholders found an opportunity to make the first payment under the contract and begin work on removing water from the feed, despite the blocking of all accounts of the company. Earlier, the IC investigators made a petition in this regard in the framework of the criminal case. “For the next payments, the settlement accounts of the shipowner have finally been unlocked thanks to the understanding of the situation by the leadership of the UK and the work of the operational staff to eliminate the consequences of the accident,” the source said. He also added that the withdrawal of the arrest from the accounts allowed the company to independently and fully pay the contract for the removal of the aft part. More than 50% of the work has already been done. The dismantling is scheduled to be completed by March 31. Earlier it became known that the arbitration court of the Krasnodar Territory appointed for February 27 consideration of the case on the merits against the shipowner "Volgoneft-212". CJSC Volgatransneft was charged with violating the requirements of technical regulations. It is noted that the vessel "Volgoneft-212" was set a specific period of stay in the waters of the Black and Azov seas, but "it was violated." The collapse of the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 occurred on December 15, 2024. As a result, about 2.5 thousand tons of oil products got into the water. The lawsuit against the shipowner was filed by the transport prosecutor's office.
