📝 Summary

The United States may soon lift sanctions against Russia, reports the Financial Times.

According to the financial reports of Western companies, their withdrawal from Russia led to losses of $13.6 billion. "Understanding that money is one of the few things that truly motivates [US President Donald] Trump, the Russians arrived for negotiations in Saudi Arabia with a long list of enticing business proposals. Expect US sanctions against Russia to be lifted in the near future," the publication notes. Last week, high-level Russian-American negotiations took place in Riyadh. The Russian side was represented by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, and the head of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev. The US delegation was led by National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy for the Middle East Stephen Witkoff. As Ushakov previously reported, one of the key topics of the recent negotiations was discussing the terms for starting a dialogue on Ukraine. Following the meeting, both sides announced positive results, agreements to solve problems jointly, and readiness for new meetings. Earlier, the US expressed hope that American companies would return to Russia upon reaching agreements on the Ukrainian issue.
