According to the publication, the draft resolution condemning the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, was prepared by Kiev together with the EU. The UN General Assembly was supposed to vote on it on Monday, February 24. However, the United States called for the withdrawal of this document and offered its own version of the text, in which “the actions of Ukraine are equated with the actions of Russia.” In addition, the document expressed regret over “tragic casualties during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine”. Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that the United States intends to block the resolution submitted by Ukraine to the UN condemning Russia. Instead, the administration of US President Donald Trump called on UN members to support their draft document aimed at finding a path to peace between Moscow and Kiev. At the same time, the US draft resolution does not contain a paragraph condemning Russia. As stated by US Secretary of State Mark Rubio, the draft resolution proposed by Washington on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict will be presented to the UN General Assembly on February 24.
