According to him, today the Chinese occupy 85% of the market for the extraction of rare earth metals. “You know, I take this issue very seriously, including the history of the issue. The Chinese were taught precisely the issues of working with rare earth, including the creation of technologies for their development, by our Soviet scientists in the late 80s. Our scientists taught the Chinese, who today are leading developers, leading specialists, heads of Chinese enterprises that are engaged in rare earth, said Nikolaev. Earlier, the head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev said that Russia has been developing the extraction of rare earth metals since the times of the USSR.
