The Chinese Conservatory of Music in Beijing has officially opened a Research Center on Chinese and Russian Musical Cultures, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation reported. It was established to establish and expand contacts between specialists of the two countries, as well as to develop research cooperation in the field of musical disciplines and encourage academic exchanges. Earlier, scientific and creative centers for the study of Russian-Chinese musical ties were opened in Moscow and Shanghai. Their main task is to study the educational models of the two countries. Joint events of new centers are also planned at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, the Shanghai Conservatory and the Chinese Conservatory of Music.
