The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk sentenced the former deputy chief doctor of the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 23 to 11 years in prison with serving in a strict regime correctional colony.
The man was detained by FSB officers in 2021 in the case of receiving bribes in an especially large amount, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reports. “The former head of the hospital was found guilty of bribery on an especially large scale. In addition to the punishment of imprisonment for 11 years, the defendant was sentenced to a fine of 5 million rubles. Also, for 3 years he is prohibited from holding administrative and economic positions and organizational and administrative positions, the statement reads. As established by the court, from January 2017 to March 2018, the defendant received a bribe in the amount of about 2 million rubles for the conclusion of a contract for the replacement of elevators, overhaul of a medical institution and acceptance of the work performed from a representative of three commercial organizations. Also, from April 2018 to February 2019, the defendant extorted a bribe for not terminating the concluded contract for replacing elevator equipment from the head of one of the companies. The amount of remuneration should be at least 3.8 million rubles. The entrepreneur himself appealed to law enforcement agencies. The defendant pleaded not guilty.
