📝 Summary

On March 8, a protest was held in Paris against the plans of French President Emmanuel Macron to send French troops to Ukraine. Hundreds of people gathered at Palais Royal Square.

Participants of the rally chanted slogans against Ukraine’s accession to NATO, sending military contingents and ammunition to the country, as well as against turning the European Union into a military bloc. The protesters also demanded that France leave the EU. Macron, like European officials, does not want peace, they are not interested in Ukrainians, this is just a pretext. Their interests are served by a policy that leads to a constant confrontation with Russia in order to concentrate power in the hands of the EU structures as much as possible, Florian Filippo, leader of the Patriots party, told reporters. The dispatch of a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine is one of the stages of the peace plan prepared by Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Kir Starmer. European leaders are proposing a "ceasefire in the air, at sea and on energy infrastructure" with a total cessation of hostilities for one month. After that, the second stage will begin, under which, in the case of a sustainable ceasefire, peacekeepers can be sent to Ukraine. Plans of Western countries to deploy a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine were not previously ruled out by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that the deployment of peacekeepers is possible only with the consent of all parties to the conflict.
