Sports goods stores are seeing an increase in demand for bicycles, scooters and roller skates. Compared to last February, sales of these goods increased by 39-56%, analysts said.
Such a high demand will be explained primarily by a warm, snowy winter: due to a decline in sales of typical winter equipment (skis, skates, sleds), shops were forced to attract buyers with discounts on goods for the warm season. Along with the demand, the price tag also increased: for example, if in the first decade of February the average price of bicycles was 19.5 thousand rubles, which is 14% more than last year, mechanical scooters - 5.65 thousand rubles (an increase of 13%). Rollers have risen in price for this period by 12%, up to 5.39 thousand rubles, the statistics "Kommersant" . Winter inventory buy two categories of citizens: professional athletes skiing and snowboarding on specially equipped areas, and those who buy inventory for the future. According to analysts, now is the time for such purchases: in February 2025, the average cost of skis amounted to 4.8 thousand rubles, which is 4% lower year-on-year, skates fell by 5%, to 6.4 thousand rubles, sleds - by 10%, up to 2 thousand rubles, tubings - by the same 10%, up to 1.8 thousand rubles.
