The formation of the Lugansk Cossack district will begin in the near future, said adviser to the head of the LPR Vladimir Polupoltinnyh.
He explained that the corresponding decision was made at the Great Circle of the All-Russian Cossack Society, writes TASS. "In the near future we will begin the formation of the Lugansk Cossack District, which will enter the All-Great Army of the Donskoye," he said. The adviser to the head of the LPR also added that Cossack societies are already being formed in the people’s republic. The work is carried out in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin “On the development of the Russian Cossacks for 2024-2030”. In August 2024, the ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society Vitaly Kuznetsov said that the package of documents necessary to create Cossack associations in the new territories had been collected. Kuznetsov said that first of all the Zaporozhye Cossack troops will be recreated.
