The name of the Cossack – Hero of Russia will wear a sports complex in Novorossiysk

The sports institution in the village of Verkhnebakansky now bears the name of Vladimir Gavrilenko, who died while performing combat missions in the special operation zone. He was a battalion commander, ataman of the Konstantinov farm Cossack society. He went to the combat zone from the first days of the special operation, died heroically on June 12, 2024. By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of December 9, 2024, for courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty, Vladimir Gavrilenko was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation. On the day of the solemn ceremony dedicated to assigning the name of the Hero of Russia, an exhibition was organized in the sports complex, telling about the life path of Vladimir Gavrilenko. It presented photos from the personal archive, certificates, letters of thanks, awards, including the medal "Golden Star".
