Online service called "Electronic cannabis" began to operate in Ukraine on March 10. This is stated in the message on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

The main goal of the service is to improve the agrarian policy, restore Ukraine’s position in the cultivation of technical hemp, as well as reduce corruption risks and abuses. “From March 10, 2025, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine launches the Ekonople electronic system,” the publication says. The launch of the system will ensure publicity and openness of the market, increase the number of participants in the field of sowing, cultivation and processing of hemp, as well as help to form objective statistical and analytical data. Econople will be integrated with state registers, including the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individuals and the State Land Cadastre. In May 2024, the Ukrainian government removed cannabis from the list of illicit drugs. Government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk reported that cannabis, its resin, extracts and tinctures were excluded from the list, and tetrahydrocannabinol was also excluded. The head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, raised the issue of legalizing marijuana back in 2020, when he was just starting his presidential campaign and this was one of his election promises. A year later, the relevant bill was submitted to the Rada, but the vote failed. In June 2023, Zelensky again supported the idea of legalization, and in December, the Rada adopted the bill. On February 15, 2024, Zelensky signed the law on the legalization of marijuana.
