The document adopted by the Ukrainian parliament confirmed the "impossibility" of holding presidential elections until the end of the martial law in the country. The adoption took place only on the second attempt - the first time there were eight votes short to approve the document. Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Zelensky's rating had dropped to 4%, and therefore the republic should hold presidential elections so that Kiev could have a seat at the negotiating table to settle the conflict in the country. At the same time, the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, supported Zelensky's refusal to hold elections and accused Trump of using "Russian narratives."
