In Yekaterinburg, the editor-in-chief of the Internet publication “Evening News” Vladislav Postnikov was detained. He is suspected of publicly displaying extremist symbols.
According to his lawyer Georgy Krasnov, during the monitoring of social networks, law enforcement officers established that in 2021 Postnikov posted in his Telegram channel a publication depicting the logo of one of the organizations of Alexei Navalny (recognized as a terrorist in Russia), whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia. According to Kommersant, it will draw up a protocol on an administrative offense under part 1 of Article 20 .3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, the punishment for which provides for up to 15 days of arrest. The portal "Evening News" covers the news of Yekaterinburg and the region, as well as other Ural regions. The management of the publication has repeatedly come to the attention of law enforcement officers for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In 2022, the court fined Postnikov 100 thousand rubles for a post in the Telegram channel with fakes about the Russian army. The founder of "Evening News" is LLC "Technotorg".
