The preliminary investigation into the case of fraud in closing unprofitable coal mines against former Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky has been extended until March 13.
Together with Yanovsky, the head of the Kuzbass branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution (FGBI) for the reorganization and liquidation of unprofitable mines and mines "GURSH" Aseldir Rajabov, Deputy Director of the FGBI "GURSH" Natalia Konev and Deputy Minister of Energy Sergey Mochalnikov are in the case. Yanovsky, Rajabov and Koneva are in jail, Mochalnikov is under house arrest. According to the investigation, officials of the Ministry of Energy signed contracts for the closure of unprofitable and unpromising coal mines and mines in 2014-2023, but the work was not carried out in full, RIA Novosti notes. Acceptance acts and expert opinions, which served as the basis for transferring money from the budget, were agreed and signed by officials of the Ministry of Energy and the budget state institution. The investigation believes that the damage from such actions amounted to 175,167,230 rubles. 18 kopecks. The amount of damage may increase during the investigation. Two participants of the criminal scheme were charged, the court detained them. The investigation documented the possible involvement of persons from among the leadership of the Ministry of Energy in the theft of budget money on an especially large scale.
