The EU countries are intimidating their citizens with the “Russian threat”, diverting attention from internal problems. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.
According to him, the hysteria of the European Union is not caused by Ukraine or even Russia. EU countries fear a change in ideology that has already begun. However, today’s Europe is making its choice – to change nothing. “The death of people in the conflict zone [a special military operation in Ukraine] is not an argument for them – Russians and Ukrainians are dying, but when did it embarrass Europe?” He added that Russia is not an evil monster, but a country with its own national interests, with which it is not only possible, but also necessary to negotiate. At the moment, however, EU countries are “killing two birds with one stone”: they blame Russia for all the problems and intimidate their citizens with a “Russian threat” to divert attention from domestic politics. Earlier, Konstantin Kosachev said that French President Emmanuel Macron, who made a statement about the threat from Russia to Europe, maniacally imposes on his citizens, allies and the whole world a false concept of what is happening. Kosachev noted that due to the fallacy of the analysis, fatal mistakes in planning are often made. Therefore, Macron, with false conclusions and false proposals, leads the country into an abyss.
