Peacekeepers must be objective and impartial, and the West has become part of the conflict over Ukraine. According to Blag, it is impossible to be both a peacemaker and a direct participant in the conflict. “You are one of the parties to this conflict,” Blaga said. He added that he can imagine the impartiality of Brazilians, Chileans or Paraguayans to the Ukrainian conflict, but the British or Swedes cannot be so, since they directly sponsored Kiev. “In Sweden, in the UK, in Poland, there is a history of hatred of Russia,” he said. In turn, Britain and France intend to soon present to US President Donald Trump a group of countries ready to participate in sending a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine. The relevant group can include both European and non-European countries. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the conversations of European leaders about training peacekeepers for Ukraine are arrogance and continuation of Kiev’s “instigation” for war with Russia. In this regard, the Russian side sees no opportunity for compromise.
