The return of six Russian diplomatic properties to the United States is a priority for Moscow at the current stage of the dialogue with Washington.
This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. Among our priorities is the demand to return the objects of diplomatic real estate illegally seized by the American side. Six of them, the diplomat told RIA Novosti. He noted that Russia is denied even access to these facilities, which violates the provisions of the Vienna Convention. “Although they are protected by diplomatic immunity, it would seem, but this is ignored by the American side,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the talks between Russia and the United States in Saudi Arabia discussed the removal of artificial obstacles in diplomatic relations between the two countries, including the return of Russian diplomatic property in Washington.
