The Tomsk region is most often visited by migrants from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Igor Tolstonosov reported during a press conference

In 2024, 59 thousand foreign citizens were registered on migration, and more than 30 thousand citizens were removed from the register. "The main migration flows are citizens of Uzbekistan - 36.3% (in 2023 - 41.4%), Kazakhstan - 28.5% (in 2023 - 24.2%), Kyrgyzstan - 8.9% (in 2023 - 8.5%), Tajikistan - 5.7% (in 2023 - 12%), Armenia - 2.3% (in 2023 - 3%), Azerbaijan - 2.7% (in 2023 - 3.8%)," Tolstonosov said. Most often, migrants enter the country for employment, training and private purposes. From April 1, foreign driving licenses of Russians who received citizenship or residence permit more than a year ago will cease to operate in the territory of the Russian Federation. And from June 30, migrants will take biometrics when entering Russia.
