Moscow is among the regions leading in life expectancy in Russia. According to Anastasia Rakova, deputy mayor of Moscow for social development, the average life expectancy exceeded 79 years. This is facilitated by developed medicine, a comfortable urban environment and the Moscow Longevity Project. According to the deputy mayor, a recent study conducted among 1.6 thousand people over the age of 45 showed that participants in the project are more closely watching their health. “With the development of Moscow Longevity, a culture of responsibility for the quality of life is being formed in the city,” said Anastasia Rakova. In addition, recent data from sociologists showed that nine out of ten Muscovites surveyed believe that life expectancy depends on personal decisions and actions, rather than external factors or genetics.
