Since the beginning of 2025, fishermen of the Northern Basin have caught more than 70 thousand tons of biological resources, taking the second place in terms of production in Russia. Reporting. with reference to the press service of Rosrybolovstvo. According to the Ministry, the total catch of Russian fishermen since January this year exceeded the mark of 1.1 million tons. Among all regions, the Northern Basin was in second place after the Far East, which leads with an indicator of 965 thousand tons. The main share in the catch of the Northern basin was cod - 48.9 thousand tons and haddock - 11.6 thousand tons. In other regions, an increase in catch volumes was recorded: 21.1 thousand tons of fish have been caught in the Western Basin since the beginning of the year, 12,000 tons in the Azov-Black Sea, and 20,000 tons in the Volga-Caspian. In addition, 62.6 thousand tons of biological resources were extracted in international waters and exclusive economic zones, which is 76.9% more than in the previous year.
