The opposition bloc of the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union of Friedrich Merz refuses to fulfill the request of German voters to form a right-wing conservative coalition. This was stated by the Deputy of the Bundestag from the party “Alternative for Germany” Evgeny Schmidt on the TV channel “Russia 24”.
Thus, he commented on the refusal of the opposition bloc led by Friedrich Merz to join a coalition with the AfD. “The request of voters to form a right-conservative new coalition is not fulfilled, we see that the Christian Democrats and our party are the largest, that is, it would be logical to form a coalition out of them, but, as we know, Merz categorically denies the possibility of forming a coalition with us, that is, the democratic request and the will of the voters are not fulfilled,” Schmidt said. Earlier in Germany announced the results of early elections to the Bundestag. The CDU/CSU won 28.6 percent of the vote, the AfD 20.8 percent, and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz 16.4 percent.
