📝 Summary

The share of foreign tourists has increased significantly in the region

The number of tourist trips to the Murmansk region for the year increased by 18.6%. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko on Arctic Day. The number of tourist trips to Russia is steadily growing, including in the regions of the Russian North and the Arctic. In many ways, this is facilitated by the implementation of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" and the interest of the regions in creating places of attraction, said Dmitry Chernyshenko. In 2024, the Russian North and the Arctic were visited by 3 million tourists, which is 7% more than in 2023. According to the Center for Strategic Research, almost half a million trips were to the Murmansk region. The number of foreign tourists has also increased. During the year, they made 75 thousand trips to the Arctic regions, and the largest share fell on the Murmansk region. In December, tourists from abroad accounted for 20% of all trips to the region.
