Kola Arctic presented culinary traditions of the North in the National Center "Russia"

On March 1, the National Center "Russia" opened a gastronomic platform of the large-scale exhibition "Journey through Russia". It presents culinary traditions and modern interpretations of dishes from different parts of the country, united into four thematic zones: East, North, West and South. About it GTRK "Murman" reported in the Ministry of information policy of the Murmansk region. The National Center "Russia" is the main venue of the country, where we can finally gather in one place all our gastronomic and culinary achievements of our huge multinational country. Over the years, as part of our festival activities in the regions, we selected the most popular dishes and products of Russian regional cuisine. The cuisines of the sea regions of Russia are consistently the most popular gastronomic concepts, for example, Far Eastern and Arctic cuisines. Let me remind you that the Murmansk region gave us such a direction as Arctic cuisine. We have gone from complete obscurity to commercial success, thanks to a powerful information and festival company with the participation of local business and government, said Ekaterina Shapovalova, the author-methodist and head of the federal project “Gastronomic Map of Russia”. In the "North" zone, guests were presented dishes of the cuisine of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and culinary traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North. Visitors can taste popular dishes: black dumplings with venison with lingonberry sauce, Arctic potassium, jelly from cloudberries, jagel chips, halibut pomakuhu, northern shrimp, a tasting gastronomic set of snacks "Northern Sea Route" and many others. The operators of the space "North" are the founders of the first cafe of Arctic cuisine and the network of mobile Arctic cuisine "Arctic Moon" from Kirovsk Ekaterina and Georgy Moon. For holders of a polar explorer’s passport, a special discount is provided in the North gastronomic range, which became possible thanks to joint work with the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk region. The Kola Arctic has been actively participating in the federal project “Gastronomic Map of Russia” since 2018. Representatives of the region have repeatedly demonstrated their culinary traditions at the largest events of the country: from diplomatic receptions at the Foreign Ministry to the World Festival of Youth in Sochi, as well as at festivals in the Art Cluster "Tavrida" and regional gastronomic events from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad.
