This information was reported by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, citing data from the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation. "The availability of affordable housing is one of the factors influencing the development of the Arctic zone of Russia and the improvement of the quality of life for the northern residents. The 'Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage' program makes housing accessible to young families and privileged citizens, stimulating the development of the construction industry. Over the course of a full year of the program's operation, the volume of housing under construction in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation has increased by 40%," emphasized the Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexey Chekunkov. For comparison, the growth of housing construction volumes in the Arkhangelsk region was 32%, and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug it was 40%. As noted by the relevant department, the growth of construction industry indicators is particularly important for the Arctic zone of Russia in light of the beginning of large-scale work on implementing master plans for cities in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, developing key settlements in the Arctic, and introducing new and improving existing mechanisms for social support for residents of the Far North. According to the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, 11.7 thousand young families have received preferential loans under the "Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage" program. The Arkhangelsk region, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Murmansk region, and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug are leading in terms of implementation rates.
