NASA: February 28, the US will launch a telescope to study the origin of the universe

It is noted that this date will give more time to prepare the ship before launch. The launch window will open no earlier than 22:09 ET (19:09 ET) on Friday, February 28. The SPHEREx mission will improve our understanding of how the universe evolved and allow us to find key ingredients for life in our galaxy, the space agency said in a statement. The SPHEREx observatory weighs about 500 kg and costs $488 million. It will collect data on the so-called inflationary moment that occurred just after the Big Bang, when space expanded millions of times to form our universe. The PUNCH mission will study the Sun’s corona as it passes into the solar wind. The observatory will create a 3D map of the universe using optical and infrared light. The device will be able to see infrared rays, which are difficult to fix from the Earth. The spectrophotometer will help create a three-dimensional map, collecting data on a billion celestial objects. Earlier, the Center for the Study of Near-Earth Objects, which belongs to the American space agency NASA, reported that the probability of collision with the planet of the newly discovered asteroid 2024 YR4 in 2032 increased to 3.1%. On January 30, NASA noted that asteroid 2024 YR4, found in December, is the only known asteroid with a collision probability greater than 1%. According to the agency, its size can be up to 90 meters in diameter.
