The figure skater said that in childhood for her Irina Rodnina was an idol, she wanted to become the same champion. “I remembered my childhood, remembering how I was cut to look like Irina Rodnina. I remembered how all my life I dreamed of standing on a pedestal with the same tears, said Navka. The new film was appreciated by Dmitry Peskov, who also has memories associated with the performance of the figure skater in 1973 in Bratislava. Then during the rental music stopped, and the couple danced to the sound of applause. “My grandmother and I, when I was either 6 or 7 years old, watched on black and white TV, that’s when they [Rodnina and Zaitsev] drove, when the sound went off,” Peskov said. From March 6, the picture can be seen in cinemas. The film tells about the greatest Soviet figure skater, three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina, her ups and downs, overcoming herself and boundless love for sports and her country.
