On March 20, the Leningrad NPP will begin pouring concrete into the foundation of the reactor building at the construction site of power unit No. 8, Konstantin Khudyakov, director of the program for the facilities of the LNPP OA Concern Titan-2, told Russia 24 TV channel. According to him, the construction of the fourth power unit with a water power reactor with a capacity of 1200 MW will begin.

According to him, the construction of the fourth power unit with a water power reactor with a capacity of 1200 MW will begin.
Khudyakov noted that this year work should be completed to create the main foundation of the reactor building. The next stage will be the construction of structures around the reactor, where engineering systems will pass. In the future, it is from the eighth power unit that the electricity production chain will be launched. On the nuclear island of Unit 7, the foundation was filled a year ago. Now everything is ready for the construction of walls and installation of equipment. It is planned that each new unit of the nuclear power plant will transmit almost 9 billion kWh per year to the power system of the Russian Federation. This will provide electricity to almost 3 million households.
