For analysis, the following components were taken, sufficient to prepare a dozen pancakes: 100 g of flour, 1 egg, 200 ml of milk, 25 g of sugar, as well as 20 g of vegetable and 10 g of butter. The biggest blow to the wallet of the Tomsk people was caused by dairy products: butter rose by more than 64%, milk by 20%, and vegetable oil added about 12% to its value. Experts of the regional branch of the Bank of Russia attribute this dynamics to the increase in the costs of producers for raw materials, packaging materials and logistics services. The total increase in food prices in January was 11.08% compared to last year, and annual inflation in the region reached 9.95%. According to Elena Petrochenko, Head of the Tomsk Branch of the Bank of Russia, the current price growth throughout the country is due to the excess of demand over supply. To contain inflation and return it to the target of 4%, the Bank of Russia maintains high interest rates, hoping to achieve this goal by 2026.
