Russia of the early nineteenth century. History immerses us in the world of Paul I. The autocrat, on whom the fates of millions of people depend, finds himself surrounded by mortal enemies. The viewer sees the painful suffering of his soul on the eve of his death. "I am a cursed prince. My power has been stolen. The play "Paul I" was staged in the Vakhtangov Theater. For large screens in the framework of the rental "Theater in the cinema" created a film version. This format is special. The director shot the play, using, among other things, the principle of “reverse plan”. This is when cameras capture actors from the back, allowing you to see the audience seats. “The theatre is getting closer, the theatre is becoming more accessible. Viewers of more than 70 cities will see performances of the main theaters of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Kazan on cinema screens. The project "Theatre in Cinema", initiated by the TV channel "Russia-Culture" and the holding VGTRK sets itself an ambitious cultural and educational task - to create a single theatrical landscape: to provide audiences across the country with the opportunity to see the best performances," says the Minister of culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova.
