People's Artist of the RSFSR Valeriya Khugaeva has passed away.

In 1998, the People's Artist of the RSFSR Valeriya Khugaeva passed away. A graduate of GITIS, she served for several decades at the Academic Russian Theater named after E. Vakhtangov in Vladikavkaz. In the 1960s, Valeriya Khugaeva captivated the audience in the role of Fatima - a play based on the poem by Ossetian poet Kosta Khetagurov (1859-1906) was staged at the theater to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding fellow countryman. At the Russian Theater named after E. Vakhtangov, Valeriya Khugaeva played around 200 roles, including Arkadina in "The Seagull," Katarina in "The Taming of the Shrew," Elena Talberg in "The Turbin Days," and Bernarda Alba in "The House of Bernarda Alba." In addition to this, she directed plays, appeared in films, and was involved in teaching activities. The farewell to Valeriya Khugaeva will take place at the Academic Russian Theater named after Yevgeny Vakhtangov.
