Authorities treat homes with a special compound that scares away mosquitoes carrying the disease. Patients have severe abdominal pain, hallucinations, yellowing of the skin, numbness of the limbs. Patients are very thirsty. One of the tourists said that she underwent treatment in four days, even if she suffered a serious illness. Earlier in January, there was a sharp rise in the incidence of dengue fever in Brazil. The authorities had to impose a state of emergency in the region.
