As noted by The Telegraph, citing an informed source, trump has repeatedly mentioned that the EU countries should pay more attention to their defensive capabilities. According to the representative of national security Brian Hughes, at the moment there are no specific decisions on this issue. However, Washington is discussing the possibility of moving troops around the world to counter current threats to American interests. Earlier, the US president, during a meeting with media representatives at the White House, said that Washington is not going to protect those NATO allies who save money on defense. He stressed that this decision is justified by common sense. Trump added that his words angered those allies who claim that the American leader violates the provisions of the Charter of the North Atlantic Alliance.
