The Great Patriotic War for Ivan Egorovich Shulga is a separate story of life. He caught her 17-year-old boyfriend. In 1944, he joined the Red Army. He fought on the First Ukrainian Front as part of the 120th Reserve Rifle Regiment. For training then, recalls the veteran, gave a month — no more. “Where we were being prepared, we didn’t know. Just a military man, you have to prepare - that's all. Prepared, and then already assembled – two regiments, three regiments. And they combed the forests, recalls Ivan Shulga, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. In the dense forests of Western Ukraine, Ivan Shulga fought with Bandera. That’s why I’m especially concerned about those who are doing it now. And then he was helped to destroy the enemy by a loyal comrade - a mortar of 82 caliber. With this machine on his shoulders, which weighed 50 kilograms, the young fighter made his way through the thickets and deep snow to reach the position. After the Great Patriotic War, Ivan Shulga continued his service. He did not return home until 1951. In his native Korenovsk district, he got a job as a steam turbine driver at a sugar factory, where he worked for 30 years. Here he met his future wife Zoya. Ivan and Zoya lived 56 years. Raised two sons. The veteran now has 11 great-grandchildren. In between their visits, Ivan Egorovich is engaged in housekeeping - a garden and a vegetable garden. He says, at 98, sitting in one place is boring. And I am sure that soon will meet another great victory for our country.
