Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation reported that in 2023 the founder of Andi LLC Anar Huseynov organized the production of cider in Samara for subsequent sale. At the same time, in order to reduce technical costs and time costs, the accomplices did not follow the natural technology of making the drink. Instead, ethyl alcohol was added to the soluble juice. Artem Hayrapetyan had previously purchased at least 4,000 liters of alcohol stolen from a police warehouse. As it turned out, it was poisonous methanol. Despite this, the composition was used in the preparation of about 48 thousand liters of cider under the trade names "Mr. cider" and "Summer cider". Accomplices managed to sell more than 30 thousand liters of finished counterfeit products to stores in the territory of Udmurtia, Mari El, Kurgan, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Samara and Ulyanovsk regions. As a result of the poisoning, 50 people died, another 66 were injured.
