On January 1, amendments to the law "On the Basics of Tourist Activities" came into force in the Russian Federation. Thus, a new system of classification of objects of the tourist industry was created. Now there are two stages of classification, said RIA Novosti in the press service of Roskoshestvo. The first step is self-assessment. The object determines its own type. Then comes the second stage: classification by star category. Thus, the object receives a category from one to five stars. “The ongoing reform in the field of classification of accommodation facilities will allow to create a single verified register”, – said the head of the certification and classification body “Roskashestvo-Tourism” Alexandra Shershnev. So interested tourists will be able to find the necessary information about hotels or, for example, sanatoriums that want to visit. It is noted that all tourist facilities, including ski slopes and campsites, must strictly comply with the established quality standards. Also from September 1, a ban on the placement of data on tour aggregators without reference to the register of accommodation facilities comes into force in Russia. Links must be placed necessarily.
