The Governor of the Vologda region Georgy Filimonov commented on the detention of Vice-Governor Denis Alekseev on suspicion of extortion of 100 million rubles from the forestry enterprise "Bereznik".
In his Telegram channel, Georgy Filimonov wrote that Vice-Governor Alekseev, detained together with the head of the regional representative office in Moscow, Bocharov, had nothing to do with the forest industry. He expressed hope for a prompt and objective investigation of the case by law enforcement agencies. According to the investigation, Alexeyev and his accomplice demanded money for the extension of the lease agreement for forest plots and general protection. Earlier it was reported that Denis Alekseev and Kirill Bocharov were detained in the capital by FSB operatives and TFR investigators.
