The play “Deal” was staged in the Pushkin Theater

She is ready to allocate money, but on the condition of "a billion in exchange for the life of her former lover." For the first time this story was described by Friedrich Dürrenmatt in 1956, now the Pushkin Theatre staged a play based on the play, changing the name "The Visit of the Old Lady" to "The Deal". Will it be a deal with conscience? Or just retribution to someone who betrayed her years ago? “There are many themes in this play. For me, the topic of the uncomfortable past with which we work is interesting, the topic of responsibility, redemption, recognition of one’s past, says director Igor Teplov. The inner fracture of the main character emphasizes her appearance - hump, extravagant outfits and hairstyles. In Gulen, she is surrounded by a shocking retinue. The first association is the retinue of Bulgakov, Volanda, such circus everything, asexual creatures, devils, chthonic characters. This show would not have happened if the tragedy had not happened to the main character. This hyperbole is such that “look how good we are!” explains actor Nazar Safonov. Endowed with irony, sarcasm and bitter life experience. For the performer of the role of Clara, her heroine was an adult, offended girl. Can she forgive her youthful love for the pain and shame she has caused? Ill's two encounters precede the most important scenes in the play: when she makes a deal and when she doesn't overturn the death penalty. You can only forgive someone who asks for forgiveness. He's not asking. But even if she did, I'm sure she wouldn't have. The resentment is too great, and revenge is too strong, said Honored Artist of Russia Vera Voronkova. What does drinking a cocktail of love and revenge lead to? Will the destruction of the old world lead to the birth of a new one?
