In the regional Investigative Committee against Igor Ustyuzhanin opened a criminal case on receiving a bribe on a large scale. According to the investigation, the head of the city received 300 thousand rubles from a representative of a commercial firm that wanted to conclude a contract for the dismantling of emergency buildings in Manturov. And disassembled property - to use in their further activities. At the same time, according to the materials of the case, the official demanded from the businessman another 100 thousand rubles – they had to be transferred to one of the municipal organizations as a voluntary donation. On the eve, the press service of the TFR, Ustyuzhanin met with a representative of the company in one of the hotels in Kostroma, where he received 300 thousand and pledged to provide the entrepreneur with the conclusion of a municipal contract. And right after, he was arrested. The crime was revealed as a result of the operational work of employees of the regional FSB department and the regional police department for combating economic crimes. Igor Ustyuzhanin became the head of Manturov in 2021, before that he worked as the director of the Manturov school. Under the criminal code, he faces up to 12 years in prison. As commented in the administration of the Kostroma region, the municipal and state authorities provide all necessary assistance to the investigation of the criminal case. “Officers who engage in any form of corruption have no place in the municipal service. People coming to the service should understand the level of responsibility. I am convinced that law enforcement and investigative agencies will deal with all the circumstances of this case, Governor Sergey Sitnikov said.
