The play Callsign Silence directed by Sevastyan Smyshnikov is a monologue-confession based on the story of a real person, a participant in a special military operation. The main role is the actor of the theater “Contemporary”. Anna Schuster attended the press screening. Surrounding. The enemy is a few dozen meters from the dugout. The decision to dig, crawl. Then Artem found an anti-personnel grenade launcher and managed to get from it into the turret of the APU tank. Then the bullets whistled, the wound, but despite the hellish pain, he managed to crawl a few more meters and report to the headquarters the situation. He survived, but lost his leg. It's a real story. It happened in May 22 with Artem Vasilyuk, and today - at the heart of the new documentary drama "Callsign Silence". The idea of staging “Call Signal Silence” was born during the trip of the actor “Tabakerka” Sevastyan Smyshnikov to the art cluster “Tavrida” in August 23. There writers, playwrights, directors met with the participants of a special military operation to create performances about modern heroes on the basis of their memories. As a result of the educational program, several productions were born at once. “A succession, a succession, yes, is moving around the country – Chelyabinsk, Arkhangelsk, now Moscow and so on,” says Deputy Minister of Culture Sergey Pershin. For Sevastyan Smyshnikov, “Callsign Silence” was the first directorial work. To accurately reflect on the stage, what the hero of the SVO actually experienced, it took a long preparatory work. “A year and a half the play was written, we were preparing, Oleg Yurievich Antonov finished it, once again we contacted, we were constantly in contact with Artem,” says director Sevastyan Smyshnikov. Another four months took rehearsals, and here is the result presented to the audience. The production affected a much longer period of Artem’s life than participation in the SVO. They tell you what happened before. How he served in the fire department and saved 34 people from the fire, how after his decision to go for a special operation he was abandoned by a girl. In the hospital he met his future wife. But happiness wasn't cloudless. At one point, the hero of the play asked the question: “Does his beloved cripple need?” I started looking for salvation in alcohol. After the heroic events that he has gone through, the next stage is coming – a very difficult one, and this will be discussed. How do I start again? For what? – comments art director of the Theatre Oleg Tabakov, art director of the theater “Contemporary”, People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Mashkov. Having found answers to these questions, the prototype of the main character of the play "Callsign Silence" Artem visits hospitals to support those who have faced similar troubles. Sometimes he prefers not to talk, but to show his prosthesis and a couple of dance moves. "I said, "Well, that's how you should walk." The movements are like that, and calmly, everything, says SVO participant Artem Vasilyuk. And Artem himself finds support in sports. He recently won the All-Russian Defenders of the Fatherland Cup in the table tennis category. And now the new page of life is theatrical. It's his first time.
