📝 Summary

The performance was dedicated to artists and front-line brigades that passed the Great Patriotic War.

Grigory Gorin's famous play "Farewell, entertainer!" was staged at the Theater of the Russian Army. The performance was dedicated to artists and frontline brigades who passed the Great Patriotic War. As the director of the production Yuri Makovsky says, it is a gratitude to people who are “always necessary, and in difficult times – doubly necessary.” Yulia Kundryukova was at the press screening. Farewell, entertainer! Grigory Gorin wrote for the 40th anniversary of the Victory. It just so happens that 40 years later, it's not just about the past, it's about the present. In the story, stage artists go to the 41st to perform in front of soldiers. But soon they are surrounded by Moscow, and then captured. This story is directly related to the Theatre of the Russian Army. “19 frontline brigades went through the war and the 9th brigade was killed entirely. But only Nina Afanasievna Sazonova survived. She came out, came back. And, of course, this performance is a tribute to our artists, says Milena Avimskaya, director of the Theatre of the Russian Army. Grigory Gorin in the 85th year wrote a play for specific artists – Andrei Mironov, Mikhail Derzhavin. The director of this production has already appointed Artem Kaminsky for the main role. I know my uncle, his nose was cut off by the Nazis in a concentration camp. He ran. I sat in his arms as a kid. It's my gene code. I can't do anything else. When I go out, it's very easy for me to cry when I think of him. And I understand what I'm telling the audience about that time. This is mine, says People’s Artist of Russia Artem Kaminsky. But this show is not only about the Great Patriotic War. Almost all the artists who go on this stage, at least once visited the zone of the SVO, supported the soldiers, giving concerts. Like risking your life. As director Yuri Makovsky says, this gives the production a new depth. Brigades of the Theatre of the Russian Army go to the guys for a ribbon and told a lot about it. The way the guys meet them. They meet like a breath of air. In order to preserve some kind of human nature in these terrible conditions of war in which they are now. Perhaps this is our purpose today, says director Yuri Makovsky. The main idea in the Gorin play, and in this production: "We must teach people to live cheerfully." This is the phrase of the main character, hereditary entertainer Nikolai Burkini. According to Andrey Mironov, the most expensive thing in this play is “people who are unwise, but surprisingly necessary at all times, and in difficult times – doubly.” Conferencing, being captured, makes a feat. He goes on stage knowing there's a bomb in the room with the Germans. It takes time until the clockwork works. The last few minutes of life are particularly long.
