The region is preparing for the fire season

This year, the grouping of the Unified Forest Fire Center remained unchanged. These are 150 paratroopers, 16 pilots-observers and more than 300 people of the ground service. Sergey Ivantsov, Director of the Unified Forest Fire Center of the Arkhangelsk Region: We are ready for the inspection, which is annually carried out by the Federal Forestry Agency. We believe that we are one hundred per cent staffed, both people and means”. The inspection is carried out annually before the start of the fire season. Last year it started on May 1 and ended on October 3. During this period, ELC specialists quickly extinguished 513 hectares of forest fires.
