“Avialesoshore” is preparing for the fire season in the Magadan region

The Magadan region is one of the first in Russia to use unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type from the Kalashnikov concern. They allow you to quickly survey huge areas at a great distance. Unmanned aircraft type are now being launched in test mode. They fly around huge territories and land by parachute. Pilots prepare to use them during the short but often fire-prone Kolyma summer. “The characteristics of this BLS allow you to stay in the air for up to three hours. Fly an area of about one hundred square kilometers. At the same time, we can carry out photo fixation, video fixation, fixation in the thermal imager. The distance that we can do in one flight is about 300-400 kilometers, said Ivan Istomin, head of the external pilot group of OSUE Kolyma Aviation. They're launching a quadcopter. It will be used to survey nearby areas. The built-in thermal imager will quickly fix the fire. Active use of drones to help firefighters in the Magadan region began several years ago. Pilots work in parallel with Avialesokhrada, many fires in the region are natural, arise due to dry cargo, forests burn where there are no people. In the fire-hazardous period, helicopters are actively used in the Magadan region. By helicopter, Avialesokhrada employees reach the most remote points of the region. This year, helicopters will also deliver ATVs to help firefighters. Six quad bikes, as well as an on-board truck "Sadko" in the region were purchased as part of the national project "Environmental Well-Being" and the federal project "Forest Preservation". ATVs have already been evaluated by firefighters, they are tested in winter conditions, the technique is maneuverable and highly passable. “When extinguishing ground forest fires in hard-to-reach areas, where large equipment cannot pass, the delivery of fire-fighting equipment will also be carried out – motor pumps, saws, shoal tools,” said Semyon Murachev, head of the department of MOGBI “Avialesokhrada”. The Sadko truck is planned to be used to transport firefighters to the forests of the Olsk and Khasyn districts closest to Magadan. It is also going to transport the goods necessary for extinguishing forests. “Preparing equipment, undergoing technical inspections. We're training staff. We're recruiting seasonal workers. We're training them. We purchase everything necessary for the work of the institution during the fire hazard period. Food, equipment, fire equipment, – said Yuri Rychkov, head of MOSBI “Avialesokhrada”. Avialeskhrala approved five air patrol routes with a length of more than two thousand kilometers and 33 routes of ground patrol. The fire season in the region starts in the second half of May.
