"Prime Minister Trudeau has informed President Trump that Canada has secured a 90 percent reduction in fentanyl flow across the northern border of the United States," the statement said. The premier wrote on the social network X that Ottawa will introduce the post of “king of fentanyl” (Czar, as the West calls the special representative appointed by the authorities to control the situation in a certain area – approx. ed.). According to him, drug cartels will be added to the lists of terrorist organizations, joint forces will be formed with the United States to combat organized crime, supply of fentanyl and money laundering. Earlier, Trump, explaining the desire to impose duties on goods from Canada and Mexico, said that he was “focused on” stopping the smuggling of fentanyl into the United States, coming across the border with these countries.
