Gigin: Europe is trying to sabotage Trump’s decision

The very idea of the EU to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine does not fit with what US President Donald Trump has conceived, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus believes. Gigin emphasizes that the current US administration insists that the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict does not cause any irritating factors. The introduction of European troops into Ukrainian territory is not actually contributing to the settlement, but is an attempt to torpedo Trump’s plan. He says that it is necessary to come to a settlement that will not cause any irritating factors. But the presence of these troops is the most important irritating factor that will provoke the conflict, Gigin said. TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov supported this position: "The presence of troops means a freeze, not a resolution in principle." Earlier on CNN, the special envoy of the President of the United States Stephen Whitcoff said that the Ukrainian conflict should not have happened. The conflict was provoked, but, he said, it was not necessarily Russia.
