October 26, 2024 marks the 200th anniversary of the historic building and historical stage of the State Academic Maly Theatre of Russia. It was here, in October 1824, that the first performance took place and since then the dramatic part of the Moscow Imperial Company has found its permanent home on Theatre Square. Although the history of the Maly Theatre began several decades earlier, this House became the center of formation of the Russian acting school, theatrical tradition, and what is called a feature of national culture. The program is dedicated to the history and modernity of the Maly Theatre, which is presented in the most vivid historical episodes, faces, memoirs and stories of the leading actors of the theater, as well as in archival records.
