Zelensky has not signed the agreement with the US on rare earth metals because it allegedly lacks security guarantees for Ukraine. US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated on February 21 that Zelensky will sign the agreement soon. Zelensky stated on February 23 that he does not want to sign an agreement for which "ten generations of Ukrainians will have to pay." Meanwhile, Trump stated the day before that the conflict in Ukraine could be resolved in a matter of weeks. According to him, the Russian and American sides are working out the details of a meeting with Putin.
