"We propose to impose punishment on the defendant for the murder of a minor in the form of imprisonment for a term of 19 years with serving in a general regime correctional colony," the prosecution said. Mitigating circumstances in the sentencing can be considered the active assistance of the defendant in the investigation of the crime and her candid confession, said the representative of the prosecution. According to the prosecutor, the motive for the crime was the fact that the woman lost a large amount of money and planned to die with her son, but could not do so. The accused was in a difficult life situation, reports TASS the opinion of the defense. The total amount of its debts is about 50 million rubles. Recall, according to the materials of the investigation, on the night of July 12, 2024, Shatova, while in her apartment in the Motovilikhinsky district of the city, strangled her nine-year-old son with a charger cord, and then inflicted more than 30 stab wounds. In order to cover up the crime, she put the body of the child in a suitcase and took to the garbage lot in the Leninsky district of the city. The woman was arrested on July 13. During the interrogation, she fully admitted her guilt.
