The Prosecutor’s office conducted an inspection of the circumstances of poisoning of a team of builders with carbon monoxide in the Gorny district of Yakutia. According to the results, administrative cases were initiated, the press service of the prosecutor's office of the republic reported.
The incident occurred on January 31 this year. Law enforcement officers checked, among other things, compliance with labor protection legislation. “It was established that <...> as a result of using for heating in violation of instructions, in the absence of sufficient ventilation of 4 diesel infrared heaters, 5 workers of the construction team were poisoned by carbon monoxide,” the report said. The victims sought medical help, two of them were hospitalized. In connection with numerous violations of labor protection requirements in respect of responsible construction officials, administrative cases were initiated under articles on violation of labor legislation and violation of state regulatory labor protection requirements. Procedural inspection is put under the control of the prosecutor's office.
