Amendments to the law on timber harvesting in the Tomsk region
During the 39th meeting of the Legislative Duma of the Tomsk region, amendments to the regional law "On establishing the order and standards of timber harvesting by citizens for their own needs" were approved. The initiative, proposed by MPs Oksana Kozlovska, Alexander Kupriyanets and Sergey Avtomonov, provides for the introduction of important changes after monitoring the law enforcement practice of the current law.

📝 Summary
During the 39th meeting of the Legislative Duma of the Tomsk region, amendments to the regional law "On establishing the order and standards of timber harvesting by citizens for their own needs" were approved. The initiative, proposed by MPs Oksana Kozlovska, Alexander Kupriyanets and Sergey Avtomonov, provides for the introduction of important changes after monitoring the law enforcement practice of the current law.
The law proposes to supplement the list of categories of citizens for whom a preferential rate of payment under contracts for the sale of forest plantations is provided. Now this right can be used by participants of a special military operation. It is also proposed to expand the list of types of intended use of wood for their own needs. After the adoption of the amendments by the Duma, the forest can be used not only for construction, but also for the reconstruction of housing. “Amendments were required following the appeal of citizens in terms of reconstruction of their homes, because earlier the law had only norms in terms of construction and repair,” said Sergey Avtomonov, Chairman of the Committee on Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Management. He also added that during the reconstruction, the area of the residential building and the external contours may change, while repairs are made in order to preserve the object in its original form.
