"Four people have died in the Gaza Strip this morning in connection with violations of the peace agreement by the occupation," the statement said. A cease-fire has been in effect in Gaza since January 19 as part of a prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas. During that time, Palestinian groups released 30 Israeli hostages, while Israel released about 1,700 Palestinian prisoners. However, Hamas still holds 59 prisoners, of whom about half are presumed dead.
